Work on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase II has accelerated significantly, with multiple infrastructure and industrial projects entering active development across the country. Officials from the CPEC Authority confirmed that energy, agriculture, and special economic zone projects are progressing on schedule.
Key developments include the expansion of Gwadar Port, the construction of new industrial zones in Punjab and KPK, and upgrades to road networks connecting major cities. Chinese investment teams have been visiting project sites to conduct progress reviews.
The second phase of CPEC shifts focus from energy and road infrastructure to industrial cooperation, agriculture modernisation, and socioeconomic development. Pakistan hopes these projects will create tens of thousands of local jobs.
Analysts note that successful implementation of Phase II could significantly boost Pakistan’s export capacity and attract further foreign direct investment from other countries keen on entering the regional market.
